ASM Electric is fully licensed, insured and bonded veteran owned C-10 electrical contractor serving throughout San Luis Obispo County. Started in 2011, we are headquartered right here on the beautiful central coast and as a family business, we pride ourselves on treating our customers like family. We serve the entire community on all areas of electrical construction from local government public works projects to our businesses and home owners. No job is too big or small for our dedicated team!
Our Owner
Our owner, Andrew McMahon, handles daily operations and has years of electrical knowledge and construction management experience. Starting out as an electrician’s apprentice he completed a 5-year electrical apprenticeship program consisting of 8000 hours of on-the-job training and 2000 hours of classroom instruction. During this time he worked for one of the largest electrical contractors in Southern California on some of the largest projects ever built in the Los Angeles area such as LA/USC County Hospital Replacement Project ($350 million in electrical), Port of Los Angeles Pier G Administrative and Operations Buildings ($200 million in electrical). After completing his apprenticeship program he went on to work as a journeyman electrician, foremen, then general foreman supervising crews and monitoring progress on projects. Eventually he moved to the office side of electrical contracting and worked as a project engineer coordinating timelines, budgets and construction document on a variety of projects. In 2008 he moved to San Luis Obispo to further his education and attain a B.A. in Electrical Engineering. With that idea ASM Electric was born!
Our Team
Our team has grown since that time and now has over 60 years of combined public works, commercial and residential electrical construction knowledge on staff. We have field electrical as well as project management experience and pride ourselves on building strong trusted business relationships. We have a firm understanding of who we are and what we can provide to our customers. With that said, our goal is and always will be to be the leading electrical contracting option for our trusted partners in our community.
